Expensive weekend.
Oct. 31st, 2010 01:25 pmBut it was all necessary!
Having decided that my posture had suffered enough, I decided that I needed to start on the little daily things which were ruining it. The worst of these being the laptop. I do have a laptop stand which is far better than nothing, but even with that thing and my work chair as low as it can possibly go, I still hunch over. So, I went and bought a better one. It not only does the tilt thing, it also has little feet which raise it another couple of inches. I also bought a wireless keyboard so that it is easier to lean back and type, and a wireless trackpad.
This whole setup cost me around $250. When I first figured out how much it would cost, I nearly decided against it. I then concidered the fact that my posture is part of my health, and why on earth would I be deciding that it isn't worth the money? I am sick of having sore shoulders and of looking hunched over. I don't want long-term problems because of it. I'm damned well going to do what it takes to look after myself.
I also had to replace my watch band, my insoles (cheaper than buying new shoes) and my shoe laces. I also replaced a skirt, and treated myself to a little cardigan thing which is very bright in gorgeous colours, and I can't believe I can actually pull it off. This is part of a long-term goal of updating my wardrobe to include higher quality clothes.
So, expensive weekend. But worth every cent, I think.
