Victoriana!
May. 17th, 2012 09:35 am My clothing order arrived the other day! XD I spent yesterday wearing bloomers, a petticoat, and a full-length skirt. I also have a cheap corset on that functions only as an undergarment, but still does some waist-defining.
I am pleasantly surprised at how good this getup is at temperature regulation, especially the skirt with the layers. I never felt cold, and I never got too warm, even when others in my office were complaining that the heating was up too high. Cotton isn't meant to be all that great for this purpose, but I think when you have several layers that aren't all directly next to each other, it insulates a lot better than it would if you've got one Tshirt on top of another.
I'll be tempted to try this out in warmer weather too, as insulation goes both ways.
I need to do some shopping for more shirts that fit properly. The pretty blouse with the lacing is amazing, but a bit low-cut for work. Also a bit too fancy for work. I'll need to give people time to get used to seeing me in a skirt on a regular basis before I get really fancy. The other blouse is a bit billowy (I had to get a very big one in order for it to fit my chest; I might be able to get away with a size smaller in future) but it looks pretty damned awesome with a waistcoat. I need more waistcoats. I might try it with sleeveless jumpers, too. See how I go.
It's so much easier to dress up when you have clothes that you actually *want* to dress up in! :-)
