So I took Friday off because I was coming down with a cold. I figured it was best to nip it in the bud, get my rest early, and be well enough for work by Monday.
Didn't quite go that way. I felt worse and worse over the weekend until I got my period on Sunday afternoon and then came down with gastro on Sunday night. As a result, it's now Wednesday and I've been away from work this whole time. I would like to be able to say that this is a really good thing and that I'm rested and ready to go back, but I'm really not. Each one of those three things is manageable. The cold, I usually need a single day off. Gastro, usually two days, no more than three. Period, don't need to take time off except in really extreme circumsances.
But all three together are a remarkably different story. I have no choice except to work tomorrow, unfortunately. We're writing reports and despite my repeated requests (not just by email but by phone as well), my team have sent me no data so I haven't got any done. I'm really not impressed at the moment. I don't particularly want to spend tomorrow night doing report-writing when I've had all this time that I've been couch-bound to do it in.
In good news: I got my iPad! XD It is everything I imagined it would be. So much love! I'm still using my laptop for some things, but less and less as I find apps which do what I want. If I can manage Microsoft documents wel enough in iWork and if we go to web-based report-writing, I'll have no need of the laptop at all! That would kind of rock. I'd end up using my husband's iMac for most of my documents and photos instead.
