Body wacky

One thing which annoys me in a very particular way is the feeling that something isn't right with my body, but not being sure what it is. There are just a few vague, general things which aren't quite right, but they're not indicative of anthing specific and which can be attributed to any number of causes. For example, this past week I've noted the following as being "more" than usual:

- Unusually dizzy, lethargic and fatigued. I'm prone to anaemia, so I figured I probably just need more red meet and to remember my iron supplements.
- Chest pain. It's around my sternum, and I have had a cough so I figured that must be what's causing it.
- Loss of appetite. Even if I do feel a bit hungry, nothing appeals to me as far as food goes. I just don't really want anything. I attributed this to being back on my medication, as that can reduce appetite
- Unusually cold hands and feet. I figured that it's just due to cold-ish weather.
- Itchy tongue, which I thought was just my body being strange again.
- Almost daily, severe headaches which I figured were just related to the stress of being back at work.

Then I started to worry, because a few things didn't match up:

- I took iron supplements and got extra sleep. Still dizzy and lethargic, which would normally have cleared up by now.
- My medication wears off by late afternoon, yet I still have little or no appetite.
- This cough is not severe enough to cause chest pain, yet there it is.
- Our heating system is awesome, and I haven't had feet and hands this cold since I went on the pill.
- Nurofen usually helps with headaches a lot more than it has been this past week.

I complained of dizziness that hasn't been helped by iron on Facebook, and someone suggested that I might have a vitamin B12 deficiency. I looked it up and found that, among other things, it can cause anaemia. It also explains the other niggles I've been having.

So, I'm now also taking Berrocca. I'm not going to get blood tests unless this also doesn't work, because the hassle and money of getting them done just aren't worth it, and I don't think I'm at risk of permanent nerve damage just yet. I'll see a doc if a week of Berrocca and vegemite doesn't make me feel better.

Wish me luck!
