Grief

After a year and a half (and a bottle of wine), I'm finally grieving Neil Archibald (the best lecturere I've ever had and the most inspiring person I've ever met) properly.

I've probably spent an hour crying. I'm crying as I write this.

I miss you, Neil. Anyone that's ever had a class with you, misses you. You were an inspiration to us all. I'm sorry I never got to tell you how you inspired us, or how much you meant to us.

I'm sorry it took 2 months for me to even find out you'd died.

You left us too early. You died before your time. I wish that I believe in an afterlife, so that I at least had the hope of telling you how important you were to all the people whom you taught.

I wish you knew. I wish you were still here. Many, many people wish you were still here.

I wish it hadn't taken me a year and a half to grieve properly.

Rest in peace, Neil. You were a great man, and an inspiration to us all.
