Another challenge to come

I'm getting a DSLR soon. It'll come with a single, 18mm-55mm lens and I hope to get a good flash for it. It's second-hand, and the current owner and I have agreed on a price. Now it's just a matter of me saving for it and her choosing what to upgrade to.

I've decided that, when I get it, I should do a 52-week project like the recipe challenge. I want to do this because I want to learn to be a better photographer.

So, what I'm looking for here is suggestions on techniques and aspects and subjects to be my focus (so to speak) for each week (at least initially), and at the end of each week I'll put up the photo I'm happiest with. Of course, I won't be limited to that style of photography for that week, but it'll give me something specific to work on.

So far, I'd like to have a week of each of these:

- Black and White photography
- Macro photography
- Motion-blur photography
- Animals
- Buildings
- Large plants
- Small plants
- Landscape
- High-speed photography
- Portraits

I'm planning to request photographic equipment for Christmas and/or my birthday, so there may be an increase in what I'm able to do by January. So feel free to request other things which may require more specialised equipment :-)
