Seriously, the only reason I reckon you'd buy Vista now is if the laptop or desktop you were buying had it pre-loaded onto it. Wait at least six months, probably a year, before it gets worth the time, so Microsoft can sort all this stuff out.
I'm not immensely keen on it, and I sell some Vista products. Office 2007 is pretty nice though.
